Object Detail


Description
chairs, Windsor, set consisting of five chairs and one carver chair, with stick backs and wheel-decorated splats. Elm seats, yew hoopbacks, arms and arm supports with birch sticks, legs and crinoline stretcher. The legs turned. Dowelled construction throughout. Strengthening spars with bobtail at back. Carved and fretted splat; turned legs, stretchers and spindles; seat shaped by hand. Incised decoration around top of seat and hoopback.
