untitled (from A Sentimental Journey) framed scene with figures, coach, birds and animals this embroidery was sewn by a 14-year old girl named Margerette Spottiswood (afterwards Blackham) in 1796 the inspiration for her work came from Laurence Stern’s book 'A Sentimental Journey through France & Italy' written in 1768.
