Object Detail

coffee cup with handle and saucer, coffee cup and saucer, hand-painted with a “Japan” style floral pattern in iron-red, green, blue and puce, with gilded highlights to some of the flowers. The diaper pattern around the rim of the coffee cup and saucer is enclosed by a red line border. The rim and foot of the coffee cup is line gilded as is the ring handle. The rim of the saucer is also gilded. The shape of the coffee cup and the ring handle are typical of Worcester in the Barr period. possibly Worcester. Worcester / Barr Worcester circa 1790
