Object Detail


Description
teacup and saucer, scalloped edge with gilded rims, foot and ring and spur handle. Saucer and interior of the teacup are hand-painted with a grey ground, gilded with a diaper pattern, interspersed with gilded leaf motifs, the well hand painted with a floral bouquet surrounded by gilded daisies and grey ground leaves with gilded outline. The exterior of the teacup gilded with tendrils and floral motifs around the centre. pattern number “2 / 984” in gold on the base of the cup, is indicative of Ridgeway production, Staffordshire.
