Description
plate (from a table service for the King of Oudh, Lucknow, India), pair, hand-painted and gilded with the [armorial] crest of the King of Oudh in the well, surrounded by gilded classical floral design entwined in puce behind the ledge. These plates survived the Seige of Lucknow.
