Description
figure of Cleopatra, reclining, semi-draped in classical robes, sash. Also coiled around her left arm and head at breast. Her head rests on left hand while right arm is draped over head. Robes painted with floral and circle decoration. moulded flowers to base.

The base of this piece is affixed with a label inscribed "No. 109/788 Received 10-5-'89 On loan from / R Soden-Smith, F.S.A". Robert Soden-Smith (1822-90) was from 1857 Assistant Keeper of the Art Museum and Library of the South Kensington Museum, London (now the Victoria and Albert Museum).
