Description
plate, circular, of classical design, lobed, with a condiment rim painted with garlands of wheat husks. to the centre is a classic urn draped with flowers, scattered butterflies and insects
scalloped edge, decorated with flowers, insects and butterflies. Urn on plate has lid painted flower festoon extending past the sides of the urn. The comment regarding one of the green flowers painted on the reverse covering a kiln fault whch has become a crack refers to this plate Similar plate and decoration however insects and their placement is different. Also urn is a slightly different shape, has no lid, has a mask (face) decorating the top border and the festoon of flowers is entirely within the outlines of the urn.
