untitled (Eight Occupations) depicting figures and scenes of Indian instruments, carriages, people and crafts. this painting is in the Company Style, referring to paintings done by Indian artists for European patrons, many of whom were employees of the East India Company. Most Company paintings depict trades, castes, processions or entertainers such as these wandering snake-charmers.
