Description
bookcase, double-sided, open, each level is supported by four Doric columns, the pairs separated at either end by crossed gilt metal stretchers with central paterae. A central bead divides the case into two halves; the top shelf provides a tray (a raised bead to all sides of the top suggests a surface for decanter and glasses) and the castors are concealed beneath the skirting. The sides of the upper three shelves are crossbanded with coromandel. Goncalo alves (Anacardiaceae) Of rectangular form with four graduated tiers, each with baluster turned column supports and lattice decoration, on atall plinth base.
