Description
still Life, flowers, A robin red breast perched on a twig over a nest containing four eggs, stands before the basket. In the background, to the right, is a black and red butterfly, silhouetted against a dark blue sky, lightening to white at the horizon. Foliage is silhouetted on the horizon line. The foreground is represented as a river bank with the waters edge in the lower part of the picture. The painting is nailed to an oval stretcher and housed in a watergilded oval frame.
