Description
commode, moulded breakfront, transitional, breche violette marble top above two long drawers, each with an inlaid basket of flowers and classical urns, canted pilasters with gilt-metal clasps, serpentine sides, on tall cabriole legs. Kingwood and marquetry on pine and oak carcass with pine drawer linings. Serpentine shape, marquetry veneer, rouge royale marble top cabriole legs. Commode of transitional form with shallow breakfront and cabriole legs. Fitted with two deep drawers the fronts of which are decorated with marquetry panels; these panels are in the form of oval reserves (to either side) within which are vases of flowers and a central basket of flowers within a shaped panel. The sides of the commode are inlaid with classical urns. Canted corners with applied brass capitals, ring-pull handles and back plates and a cast, ribboned keyhole escutcheon. Rouge royal marble top.
