Description
plate, circular, pair, fluted and with scalloped edge, divided into eight panels painted with diaper and floral ornament in colour in the style of Japanese Imari ware. In the centre is a floral device in red and gold. Fluted plate with rolled rim painted in the Imari style (Japanese) with a design known as "Old Mossaik", a popular pattern in use during the 1770's and reissued in the . The plate is divided into eight design segments, painted in underglaze blue and onglaze iron red, green, puce, yellowand gold. three mons are placed randomly. The back of the plate is painted with stylised peonies and leaves and two pairs of concentric circles contain pseudo-Chinese characters.
