Description
vase, spill, male lion lying at foot of a tree aas a spill holder with three cubs, two on his back and one at his feet, snake is entwined around a branch and is watching the lion. figures of a lion with cubs. there is an amusing and rather comical snake sliding along in the tree at which the protective parent is snarling at. [allegorical lions slaying snakes – allegorical of Bravery overcoming treachery, as on the war memorial below centre, and destroying other hapless creatures, as symbols of British victory over traditional European foes]
