Description
portrait miniature, Mrs John Fairlie, with dark curled hair, wearing a white chemise, plush mount, gilt metal frame with swag and ribbon-tie surmount. Mrs. Fairlie's Christian name was Louisa, and she was the eldest daughter of John Home Purves or Purves. She married John Fairlie of Homes as his second wife. She was very well connected, being the niece of Margaret, the Countess of Blessington.
