Description
figure of a Leopard supported by tree stump, painted decoration. moulded figure of a pacing leopard; likely to have been one of a pair, the figure faces to sinister with its head erect and left foreleg slightly lifted. The moulded landscaped base is enamelled with earthtone colours and features a central treestump which provided support for the figure during firing. The base and the figure moulded separately and repaired. Enamelled overglaze with orange, brown, black, flesh and red and with a single gold line across the front of the base. Enamelled in orange with stylised spots and patches, white paws, black claws. tail looped at the end. Illustrated by Anthony Oliver and recorded by him as a circus leopard. | Staffordshire figure which features a leopard, stood on ashaped base. Decorated mainly to the front.
