Description
tureen of squat vase shape with long ribbed handles to either side (at the should they are looped but the loops are blind and filled with paterae; at the bottom, the ends terminate with mask heads), a circular cover with round, ribbed finial and a circular stand. All three pieces are decorated in the Chinese manner, with lotus flowers, anemones and chrysanthemums and the cover and lower half of the body feature moulded leaves. The rims of all three pieces are moulded with a geometrical (zigzag) border with alternate white (cross-hatched) and blue triangles. The light blue is used in combination with a cobalt blue, red, yellow, pink, green, rust-red and gilded.

Inscriptions
Printed underglaze blue marks featuring crown, palm fronds and the words "STONE China / No. 6" appear beneath each of the three pieces. inner rim of the cover is an underglaze blue "X" and beneath the base of the tureen, an overglaze "S" or "5" in red.
