Description
figure group of painting and sculpture, modelled as two putti, one standing holding a sculptors mallet and chisel, and resting his elbow on a bust, the other seated drawing on a pad, on a rocky base. The figure group is part of a set of seven figure groups in Derby’s bisque porcelain representing the Arts and Sciences are each modelled as two putti on a rocky base, demonstrating each attribute.
