Description
tea urn, with bead edge detail bearing the coat of arms "Royal crest of Denmark"
which included the motto PRUDENTIA ET CONSTANTIA (By prudence and steadfastness) indicating that the piece was formerly in the collection of Frederick VI of Denmark and Norway who reigned from 1768 - 1839). The hallmark for 1784 indicates that is that it was likely commissioned for, or by Frederick VI, to commemorate his confirmation as regent.
