Description
commemorative Napoleonic medallion "Baitte de Maringo Le XXV Prairial", contained within a turned wood frame. Above centre, bust of Napoleon, with short hair and naked shoulders, right, placed upon branches of oak and laurel, atop a tablet/painting which depicts a scene of the battle of Marengo; the bust and picture are flanked either side by flags / battle standards and various military equipage, including, left, muskets with bayonets, pikes, a halberd, and a mortar, and right, sabres, trumpets, a grenadier's hat, military drum and canon balls.
