Object Detail

Description
tripod table, octagonal topped with crossbanded rim and cabriole legs. The top and bottom have been married together, perhaps by William Johnston. The two stretchers under the table top have no real function. The top may have been a tilt top table. The table top could possibly be Regency but it could also be a lot later due to the depth of the cross banding being so thin. Usually Regency cross banding is about 2 mm deep. The turned column and three splay legs appears to be Georgian. (Michael Garwood, conservator, 11 / 08 / 08)
